Professor John Stein (University Laboratory of Physiology, Oxford) recommends our product for your daily intake of DHA /EPA.

"Omega 3 DHA/EPA is absolutely essential to the development of the brain. We do not get enough of these important fatty acids in our daily diet and most people are not able to obtain even the minimum levels".

    Professor John Stein FRCP

Because nothing but the very best is
good enough for your baby.
The purest form of Omega 3 DHA.

Mother holding a baby
Moms have long known the importance of omega 3 for the healthy development of their baby’s brain and eyes, especially during the last trimester of pregnancy. This may be one reason why premature babies are at risk of eye and brain damage.

But what exactly is Omega 3 DHA, where can you get this essential fatty acid and how can you as a mother ensure you and your baby are getting enough?

The 3 fats that we eat (saturated, monounsaturated, polyunsaturated) are split into the two groups of essential fatty acids of omega 3 and omega 6. Our omega 6 consumption, which is linked to the lowering of cholesterol, far outweighs our omega 3 intake.

In the typical UK diet, we just aren’t getting enough omega 3, especially the long chain acids. There are both long and short chain acids but these different types are not equal. It is the long chain omega 3 EPA and DHA that are the most valuable in aiding the brain tissue development, nerve growth and the eyes in unborn babies. Until recently it has been a challenge for us to ensure we are getting enough omega 3 as our bodies cannot produce it. We must get these essential fatty acids from our diet.

Whilst we know oily fish is an excellent source of essential fatty acids, it is a little known fact that fish do not produce any omega 3, rather they get it through their natural diet of algae. Algae is the original source of omega 3 DHA and because fish eat it, they themselves become a rich source of it. Despite fish being a good source of the essential fatty acids, experts recommend that whether pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive, women should limit their intake of oily fish to no more than 2 portions per week. Some fish and fish oils can contain harmful levels of mercury, PCB’s (polychlorinated biphenyls) or dioxin contaminants. There is some evidence that these pollutants can interfere with how a baby develops during pregnancy.

Here at V Pure, we know that you only want the best for your family, so how do you make sure you are having enough Omega 3 to get the benefits of EPA and DHA for your developing baby, that won’t cause harm as a result of the pollutants fish may contain?

Well V Pure heralds a breakthrough in Omega 3 DHA supplements because unlike others, it is derived from the primary source of DHA – uncontaminated seaweed and algae and is not derived from fish or fish oil. This means it has all of the benefits of fish oils with none of the possible associated risks from contaminants. 100% free from pollutants, the purest form of Omega 3 DHA, a non fish derivative and farmed away from the sea in food grade systems without the use of sea water. It is also vegetarian and vegan approved.

V Pure, the natural choice for mums and mums to be who demand nothing but the best for their baby.
